Sleep

Children have different requirements for sleep. Some need more, some need less. Sleep can ease stress, but some children find going to sleep stressful.

Early childhood educators can help children develop positive habits and sleep associations, and teach children why people need to rest to stay healthy.

The benefits of sleep

The benefits of sleep include:

  • health and wellbeing
  • self-help skills.

NQS

Sleep aligns with the National Quality Standard: Each child’s wellbeing and comfort is provided for, including appropriate opportunities to meet each child’s need for sleep (2.1.1).

The Interest Forest

The Interest Forest was created by a small team of Australian early childhood teachers. We believe in less paperwork and more play.

We have collected hundreds of children's interests, linked to the EYLF, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of your program. We hope you enjoy exploring our Forest of interest topics.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and thank them for caring for our land, coastlines and waterways.
